AI Career Advisor
“We finished early. What else could we add?”
The idea
After the core site was working, I explored whether we could make it more useful with an AI Career Advisor for young people.
The build
Our team built a career resource hub and organised the work in Jira. I experimented with the OpenAI API to create a feature where users completed a form and received structured career advice. I also supported other participants with coding and contributed to technical parts of the project.
Problems & investigation
- Finding a useful shape for the advice users would receive
- Integrating the OpenAI API into a front-end experiment
- Turning spare workshop time into a considered feature
What I learned
- A team project improves when people take ownership of what interests them
- An API can make a simple interface more useful when the problem is clear
- Presenting work is part of making it real
What's next
The workshop is complete. I am carrying the experience of building collaboratively and exploring AI features into future projects.
